The Arithmetic of Time

Updated: Apr 22

We are attracted to the oddities

There we explore, ruminate, tear apart bit by bit - our thoughts -

But like the pail hoisted from a well -

surging up into the frontal lobe,

isolation has a mirror of its own and if we look accordingly we see brighter reflections, more than the short shadows of high noon when the sun shines down vertically. Like children, hold a magnifying glass to burn burn right through nonsense

add sum the insights subtract doubt, insecurities, and errors

look at what has the propensity to eat us alive

Those lessons, the secret ones, out in the

hinterland, privileged corners of our minds

that we hide so lavishly. make

the white of the paper easier to understand.

Every little black mark only gets in the way
